REELEX-Built Accumulator Safety Issue

A possible safety concern has been discovered in all Accumulator Systems manufactured by REELEX Packaging Solutions (Formerly Windings, Inc.) for use in on-line REELEX packaging configurations.

Affected Machines: AC-150, AC-300, AC-500

Safety Issue: During certain maintenance procedures in which it is necessary to override the safety mechanisms, the upper sheave assembly is not secure and can fall causing serious injury.

Remedy: REELEX Packaging Solutions has created a safety upgrade kit offered at no charge. This kit includes a self-retracting lanyard affixed to the top of the accumulator system, which prevents the upper sheave assembly from falling even if the safety mechanisms are disengaged.

What to do: The upgrade kit for REELEX accumulators is offered free of charge and is simple to install. If you do have a REELEX (Windings)-built accumulator, we recommend that you order this kit as soon as possible.
